I've paid more attention now and I've noticed it a lot more now I know what to look for. It seems that wrecks sometimes don't render/appear at all, I'd noticed a few times previously with floating and working doors but thought it was just a one off. Then I noticed a few objects floating around in mid air/water and scanned all the moonpool fragments I'd been looking for. When I moved the Cyclops closer over to the wreck, I couldn't find it anymore and I was looking for ages. I had the bonus of finding a wreck the other day but needing to go back to my Cyclops to drop off some stuff. So I've gotten to the point of getting all the fragments I can see, saving, exit, reload and then scanning the "new" fragments, especially if I find a whole bunch of crates that are empty.
